We were all excited to see how the new Ford GTs would perform at their inaugural race under the stewardship of Chip Ganassi Racing, and… well, they did provide for some interesting moments. Early in the race the #66 went behind the wall because it was stuck in 6th gear, and the #67 sprouted a leak from the left rear corner. It was not the best showing, but CGR didn’t pack it in. They got both cars back out, but both began suffering from gearbox issues. The #66 finished 7th, and the #67 took 9th.
