Lexus IS350: Worth Waiting For

All good things come to those who wait.  We’ve all heard it, and some of us have gone along with it.  Sometimes the wait isn’t long, like killing the last 3 hours at work on a Friday so you can go home and enjoy the weekend.  Other times it is long, like scratching the seemingly endless days between Halloween and Christmas.  And in extreme cases it is excruciating, like being told you’ll get something in a month and receiving it six months later.  Dat, IS350 owner and parking enthusiast, went through the latter with his car.

When you see his black IS350 you notice two things: it’s been lowered and it’s sitting on Mag Blue Volk TE37’s.  The Megan Racing coilovers didn’t take too long to arrive after he placed his order.  The Volks; on the other hand, took six months.  He was told it would only take one.

Most people would be content with anything dumped on a set of Volks.  Dat wasn’t, so he went to work fleshing out the details.  He added a JoeZ intake , a Megan mid pipe and an HKS Hi-Power exhaust to give the 3.5 liter engine a bit more pep and a better sound.   A GFX front lip, along with flat black badges and grill, adds some aggressiveness to the sedan.  A Lexus F-Sport rear sway bar help hustle the four door through the corners.

This isn’t Dat’s first go with cars that don’t like speed bumps.  Prior to this he owned a 2004 Acura TL Type-S lowered on TEIN coilovers with a set of bronze Volk TE37’s.  What can I say?  The man has good taste in sedans and wheels.

When I look at his IS I think three things: #1 I need something like that in my life #2 the right stance and wheels can take any cool car and put it straight into the freezer and #3 good things really do come to those who are patient enough to wait.
