After far too long, the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West came back to Utah Motorsports Campus. Last time around they were on the East Course, but this time they were on the Outer Loop. Home to Witchcraft, and the massive front straight that dumps car into a big left hander, the drivers had their hands full. But these guys are professionals, so they handled it… for the most part.
Starting on pole for both days of the Utah 110 presented by Ken Garff Volvo was Ryan Partridge. He set a qualifying time of 1:54.0 for Saturday’s race, then drove the #9 Eibach Springs/Sunrise Ford/Lucas Oil Ford Fusion to a disappointing ninth place finish. He did have the fastest lap of the race, which put him on the pole for Sunday’s race. However, his luck was surprisingly similar because…
Noah Gragson, in the #7 Speed Vegas/AlertID/Colliers International Ford, took home the win on both days! He managed the win on Sunday with a last lap pass on Todd Gilliland. That’s it for the reporting on the race, now for something different.
Now, a lot of people will come out and camp for a multi-day race. Plenty of people did it for World Challenge, and plenty of people do it for NASCAR races of all levels. This weekend was no exception. If you’ve seen a Sprint Cup race, then you’ve seen what the campers at those races can do. While this was a smaller series, the people were just as willing to have a good time, and they were willing to bring others into that good time as well. I was one of those others, but I had to decline the invite. Damn this “job”. Anyway, I hope you fine people see this and had a good time! It was nice chatting with you, and meeting your dog.
That dog being this pug. Who is named Borris Said. You were an angry little fella, probably upset that you couldn’t finish in the mid-pack in either of the weekend’s races. It’s ok though, I think you’re a good doggo.
