Last weekend was the Ford Grand Prix of Utah at Miller Motorsports Park, where the Pirelli World Challenge crew came through and ran on the Outer Loop all weekend.  Day 1 featured Touring Car, GTS, and a rolling start from the GT/GTA/GT Cup drivers.

The rolling start didn’t prevent any drama though.  In turn 1 the Swisher Z4 GT3 and the Turner Motorsports Z4 GT3 got into each other in turn 1, bringing out a yellow flag.  The Turner BMW could and did continue, while the Swisher car was loaded onto a flatbed and taken back to the paddock.  After the disabled BMW was cleared from the track, the green flag flew and the cars were off!

The Drew Regitz got loose and tagged the armco between turns two and three pretty hard.  It didn’t bring out a caution, because he was far enough off the racing surface.

The Touring Car drivers did what any good, respectable touring car drivers do: they ran hard, and weren’t afraid of contact!

The Kias were not afraid to put a couple wheels in the air through the Attitudes.  Most of the drivers had no problem hitting the kerbs.  Tomorrow we’ll be back with some specific highlights from day one’s races, but for now: enjoy the pictures.
