Way back in the day, you were quite the baller if you had 15-inch wheels on your car. The standard was 13-inch and 14-inch wheels. Soon, the standard came to be 17-inches, soon after, 18-inches is a pretty standard aftermarket wheel size. As cars get bigger, the wheels get larger as well. It looks better, sure, but how big is too big? And what about racing your car? You need some sidewall on those tires. Plus bigger wheels mean more weight. (more…)
All good things come to those who wait. We’ve all heard it, and some of us have gone along with it. Sometimes the wait isn’t long, like killing the last 3 hours at work on a Friday so you can go home and enjoy the weekend. Other times it is long, like scratching the seemingly endless days between Halloween and Christmas. And in extreme cases it is excruciating, like being told you’ll get something in a month and receiving it six months later. Dat, IS350 owner and parking enthusiast, went through the latter with his car. (more…)

It was 1994, Electronic Arts released the greatest racing game of all time(at that time). The Need for Speed hit the shelves and our lives were never the same. Our time came to drive the fastest cars we’ve ever driven…virtually. One stuck out of the crowd though, it was a Porsche 911 Carrera. It had a unique look that Porsche’s today still try to emulate. It was fast, handled great until snap oversteer kicked in, and it was unlike the other cars on that game.
Seeing these Porsche’s drive around wasn’t a regular occurrence, but it was an event when you did see one. It solidified a place in my heart for Porsche that grows fonder today. Being the last air-cooled 911 though makes their desirability shoot skyward and their prices often surpass the 996 model 911′s. It didn’t matter if it was a Carrera 2 or 4, Turbo or Turbo S, I wanted it! This car was raw, and yet refined at the same time. Those features made it truly amazing.

“Ballin’ on a Budget” is kind of a joke. You can’t really be ballin’ AND be on a budget, the two are mutually exclusive. Well, at least they were before this RL showed up. (more…)
There were two qualifying sessions on Day 3: a fifteen minute mid-morning outing and a twenty-five race in the afternoon. Neither were as eventful as the previous days’, but problems arose nonetheless.
I arrived during the American Iron morning session, and made it to my chosen turn as they were on their cool down lap. On the way to said turn I ran into another photographer. He informed me that I was going to be kicked off the track because of the color of my shirt. That day I wore a red shirt. He said the drivers would see my shirt and think it was a red flag, and they would stop. I thanked him for his concern, and continued on my way. Thankfully none of the drivers stopped because of my red shirt. I shot more photos of Kris’s camouflaged RSX, and finally got some on track photos of Randy’s.(Click ‘Continue Reading’…)
This 2006 Charger SRT8 wowed me. I don’t get surprised by vehicles often, especially having previously owned a Charger SRT8 myself, but this one had me floored. Probably not for the reasons you’d suspect though.
