Hey hey hey everybody!  We’re back with one hell of an episode for you.  You’ve seen the NASA Utah coverage we’ve provided, maybe you’ve come out to an event or two, but do you know how we got a NASA region?  Or what goes into running a NASA region?  Well, we have Matt Guiver here to answer those questions, and more!

You can stream the episode via the player above, or download it here.  Or if iTunes is more your thing, we’ve got you covered.  Whichever avenue you choose, please rate, comment, subscribe, and share these episodes around!  If you like it, then you probably know some other people who’d enjoy this stuff.

Magnus Racing Takes GTD Win

by Michael Chandler

Fall Enduro cover-1

Remember when Magnus Racing was just a humble outfit in a garage at Miller?  Me too, and then they won Daytona!  Then they stayed pretty much the same, just changed digs.  This year, in a new Audi R8 LMS GT3, they took their second win at the historic race.  Here’s a photo of the old Magnus 911 at a MPRA race (Miller Park Racing Association, super OG stuff) back in 2011, the year before they took their first win at Daytona.

MPRA Fall Enduro

by Michael Chandler

Miller Motorsports Park Racing

The last MPRA race of the season was a 3 hour endurance race with a mandatory 5 minute pit stop and driver change!  It was also on the outer loop, which yields some of the highest speeds!  AND the big bore and small bore run groups would be on the track AT THE SAME TIME!!!  The combination of outer loop and 180 minutes of door to door racing led to situations like the on depicted above, and also brought out some big guns: The white and gray Magnus Racing 997, Lux Performance’s Dodge Viper ACRX and Roger Miller’s Boss 302R Grand Am car were all out there fighting for the win!

In the end it came down to who had the better Porsche, and the Magnus Racing team out dueled the home town favorites the Snows for the overall win.  But there were no losers…aside from those who didn’t actually win their class, because the racers battled for a solid 180 minutes providing entertainment for all!  Now please enjoy the massive 124 photo gallery and come out next year!

MPRA Round 7

by Michael Chandler

MPRA racing at Miller Motorsports Park

It was cold, gray and wet when I pulled into Miller Motorsports Park. It was not looking good, but then the sun came out and all was well!  For most of the people…most of the time…

NOTES:

Randy qualified 5th in the rain, beating out a WRX STI. That flew in the face of reason, but nobody was going to question it.

All the Snows came out, and all was well until Melanie’s motor blew in turn 5. The resulting clean up ended the session; HOWEVER, the resulting delays allowed Team Snow to get the car back together and back out for the makeup session. She then DOMINATED.

Three Mustangs were out: one Mustang Challenge car, an SN95 GT, and Roger Miller’s BOSS 302R.

In addition to the open wheel cars, there were Radicals running about! These British sports cars were drawn out by the full track configuration, seemingly. I’ve never seen them out there before, but I hope they come out for the Enduro on the 29th.

Full race results ca be seen here, but the massive 186 photo gallery can only be seen below!
